Introduction to Basic Microsoft Word 2003

Overview
This workshop is designed to give participates a basics understanding and skills need to properly operate the Microsoft Word 2003 application, such as basic terminology, features, editing text, formatting, and creating documents; through hands on activities.

After completing the course participates will be able to:

  • Properly Open, Close, Save, Print, and Email a document
  • Properly uses the cut, copy, drag, drop, and paste features
  • Insert headers and footers in a document
  • Insert object, date/time, symbols, and page numbers
  • Use, create, and insert hyperlinks into a document
  • Use, create and insert charts, tables, clip-art, and pictures from files and folders
  • Properly run spell and grammar check
  • Effectively use the Thesaurus, Dictionary, and Synonyms features
  • Effectively use the find and replace features
  • Properly set margins and create a completed document
  • Make use of Font color, borders and shades
  • Use the mail merge wizard to create letters and envelopes
  • Create a outline using numbers, letters, roman numeral, and bullet points
